MARTA GWINN, M.D. |
| Dr. Marta Gwinn, MD, MPH, is a medical epidemiologist with more than 25 years of experience in Public Health surveillance and research at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an agency of the US Department of Health and Human Services. While Dr. Gwinn served at the CDC she was a medical epidemiologist for CDC’s Office of Public Health Genomics (OPHG). She graduated from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, the University Of North Carolina School Of Public Health (MPH & Biostatistics), and CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service and Preventive Medicine Residency Programs. Dr Gwinn directed laboratory-based surveillance systems and research studies in CDC’s HIV/AIDS program for 10 years before joining OPHG in 1999 as its second scientific staff member. |
She served OPHG in several positions, including Knowledge Integration Team lead, which promotes using the tools of human genome epidemiology to translate genomic research results into information for, clinical and public health applications and she was the Associate Director for Science. Since retiring from the Commissioned Corps of the US Public Health Service in September 2009, Dr. Gwinn has served as senior consultant to the OPHG Director.
Dr. Gwinn’s principal interests include laboratory-based public health surveillance; epidemiologic evaluation of genomic tests; use of the Internet for horizon scanning; and improving public access to scientific data through online data systems and open access publishing. She is board certified in Public Health/General Preventive Medicine. |

ROBERT WILKOV, Ph.D. |
| Dr. Wilkov offers clients a unique blend of experience in developing technical solutions for Health Information Exchanges (HIEs), providing enterprise application integration with multiple EHR/EMR platforms. Other specialty areas include developing single sign-on solutions for providers, clinical/patient portals, clinical imaging integration with EMRs, and conversions to Epic. He has strong skills building cross-functional teams to bridge the communications gap between business leaders, clinicians, and technology staff to improve care and reduce costs. Dr. Bob has expert knowledge in Epic Care Everywhere, Inpatient, and EpicCare Ambulatory EMR. |

Prior to joining Techsoft, Dr. Wilkov was the Chief Architect at McKesson. He has also managed a joint HIE project between Geisinger Health Systems and Vignette Corp. to interconnect Geisinger ED physicians with EDs in neighboring community hospitals. He has designed a Clinical Imaging Repository tightly integrated with Epic, as well as clinical portals for Vignette Healthcare. He recently managed a Care Everywhere development project for the Cleveland Clinic to support an enterprise-wide Epic rollout.
In his early career at IBM, Dr. Bob established the first systems integration team that later evolved into IBM Global Services. He spearheaded a major six-sigma transformation effort across a 2000 person software development laboratory that resulted in winning the Malcolm Baldridge Quality Award. |

ROSE CALHAN, RN, MS |
| Rose has more than 30 years of clinical and management experience in healthcare, having served as a nurse, nurse manager, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer in several hospital systems.
She is most proud of having recently led one of the nation’s largest Electronic Medical Record system implementations for Kaiser Permanente’s Northern California region, including 22 hospitals and 160 clinics. After establishing and directing this multi-year EMR project, she became CEO of two community hospitals in which the EPIC EMR system was deployed — providing a unique perspective spanning both the implementation and the operational aspects of complex EMR systems. |
| Rose partners with Techsoft clients to create a comprehensive strategy for achieving successful EMR implementation and use. She passionately believes that the best EMR implementations are based on an organizational strategy and detailed project plans that respect organizational culture, incorporate peoples’ readiness, and address transformational change by balancing people, process, and technology. |
